Local is fresh.
Every time someone says 'wow, your dogs are so lucky,' I know I've done something right.
Like many dog owners, I wanted to feed my dogs something fresh and real. I've tried a lot of different products, but many didn’t feel quite right. Even when the food was technically “fresh,” feeding still felt like scooping the same thing into the bowl every day.
I realized what I was missing wasn’t just a different type of dog food.
It was the feeling of building the bowl that looked really good - like real food I'd feel good feeding to my dog.
...
So, in my Seattle kitchen, I began cooking a variety of fresh toppers for my dogs. That moment—standing over the bowl, and choosing what goes in their bowl every day—was my small act of care. The Topper Club exists to make that moment easier for many busy pet parents.
Every topper is made in Seattle with fresh, whole ingredients to help owners build better bowls without the time and prep. For dogs, it’s flavor and excitement. For us, it’s the satisfaction of knowing every meal is our act of love.

FAQ
What is a meal topper?
A meal topper is something added on top of your dog’s regular food to bring freshness, variety, and texture to their meals. They are designed to complement your dog’s existing diet, not replace it.
Whether you feed kibble, raw, or freeze-dried, toppers are an easy way to layer in fresh ingredients and rotate different proteins and vegetables over time.
Many pet parents also find that toppers help encourage picky eaters, make meals more exciting, or help with things like medication and appetite! Toppers turn feeding into something everyone looks forward to.
How much should I feed, and how long can I store it?
Toppers can make up 10-20% of a dog's daily intake, but they're intentionally flexible.
Some dogs get a light scoop added to meals, while others enjoy a more generous portion depending on their size, appetite, and activity level.
A good starting point is a light sprinkle over their regular food and adjusting from there.
All toppers arrive frozen and can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. The best by date will be printed on the bottom of the container.
Thaw in the refrigerator before serving, and once thawed, use within a week. As with any fresh food, always check for freshness before serving!
What makes The Topper Club different?
Most fresh dog food brands begin as complete and balanced diets, then later branch into toppers. The Topper Club was built differently — as a topper brand from the start.
That distinction shapes the entire approach. Instead of focusing on a single formula meant to be fed every day, The Topper Club is designed around variety, flexibility, and rotation. If you've heard of the 80/20 rule, toppers are the 20 - the part where you can have a little more fun and enjoyment.
It's a way to bring in different proteins, textures, and fresh ingredients over time without the pressure of constantly searching for the one “perfect” food.
The toppers are intentionally prepared to preserve texture and structure, and each ingredient is cooked separately, so you can still see the individual components in the bowl rather than a uniform mash.
Everything is made in small batches in Seattle with the goal of saving pet parents time while enriching their dog's meals. As The Topper Club grows, the lineup will continue expanding with more proteins, blends, and new ways to build the bowl.
Which topper should I start with?
Whatever one your heart desires!
- If you're looking for an everyday staple, Daily is an easy entry point, with familiar ingredients and simple vegetables that most dogs already enjoy.
- Chill leans a little lighter and gentler, with softer, easier-to-digest ingredients.
- Boost includes a more robust mix, with quinoa and beets.
- Glow brings in greens and chia seeds for a fresher, more textured bowl.
- Organs are an incredibly high-value, nutrient dense addition to any bowl!
We recommend rotating between blends throughout the week rather than sticking to just one! That variety is part of what The Topper Club is built around.
